Susan and Nancy, I know this is a 2nd comment, but I was just talking to my hubby about your blog...his favorite book in the Bible is Ephesians and he reminded me of Ephesians, chapter 1. Paul is praying for the people of Ephesus starting in verse 15...and in v. 17, he prays:

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know
-the hope to which he has called you,
-the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and
-his incomparably great POWER for us who believe.

That POWER is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms....." (emphasis mine)

The reason that this is so cool to me, is that the word "POWER" in this passage is the greek word: δύναμις, which means "dynamis". It is the same word that we get the word, DYNAMITE! (Sam is so smart!)

Whoa! God used DYNAMITE to raise Jesus from the dead! And, He offers this same DYNAMITE for those who believe. It reminds me of the times that I try to use my own strength to get through hard times and after I've tried everything and failed...I remember...again...that I already have the dynamite I need to fight my battle. I have the One that can move a mountain: Jesus! And then I remember that the Bible says that if I have the faith of a mustard seed, I can move mountains! From now on...I'm going to view my faith in Jesus as DYNAMITE!JBohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10119533991073822776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2279043266348350059.post-30481001380334167522012-07-19T12:30:09.835-07:002012-07-19T12:30:09.835-07:00This word for this post was our first outside cont...This word for this post was our first outside contribution.
